## Neighborhood

Rouen's Gare district is a lively, emblematic area located around the Gare de Rouen-Rive-Droite, which links the city to major destinations such as Paris, Le Havre and Caen. It's a district at the crossroads of history, commerce and everyday life, with a lively atmosphere thanks to the travellers, businesses and residents who call it home. Here is an overview of the district's key features:

1. Architecture and heritage
The station itself is a remarkable 19th-century building, with neo-classical architecture and a large concourse that has retained its original character. Built between 1913 and 1928, the building is representative of the style of the period, with beautiful glass windows and a majestic façade. Around the station, there are a number of historic buildings, including half-timbered houses, Haussmann-style buildings and fine Art Deco edifices. Some of the buildings, although old, have been renovated to give the area a new lease of life.

2. A cosmopolitan shopping atmosphere
The station area is also known for its cosmopolitan feel, welcoming thousands of travellers every day. There is a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, bars and small shops. Local shops and more modern stores coexist, offering a wide range of options to residents and visitors alike. Rue Jeanne-d'Arc, which links the station directly to the historic centre, is one of the main shopping streets.

3. Proximity to cultural institutions and venues
The district is home to a number of major institutions, including schools and colleges, as well as the University of Rouen, which attracts a large student population.
Cultural venues such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, one of the richest in France outside Paris, are just a few minutes' walk away. The Théâtre des Arts and other cultural venues also add to the vibrancy of this district.

4. Green spaces and accessibility
Although the district is dense and urban, a number of green spaces dot the surrounding area, providing a place to relax in the heart of the city.
Rouen-Rive-Droite station is a central transport hub, with bus routes, the TEOR (exclusive right-of-way public transport system) and numerous mobility options for quick access to other parts of the city and the historic centre.

In short, Rouen's Gare district is a nerve centre for the city, combining heritage, modernity and dynamism, with an atmosphere that is often lively thanks to the constant flow of travellers and the mix of residents and visitors. It is a constantly evolving area, at the heart of Rouen's activity.

4. Taxis
A taxi rank is located just outside the station. Taxis are generally available around the clock for journeys to more specific destinations.

5. Self-service bikes and bike parks
