## Transit
On foot: this is the ultimate address for walkers. The entire historic centre of Strasbourg is within walking distance: La Petite France, Place Kléber, the banks of the Ill, the museums and the city's best restaurants are all less than 10 minutes away. Here you can experience the heart of Strasbourg in its entirety without ever needing public transport.
By bike: Strasbourg has one of the densest cycling networks in France. Vélhop bike rental stations are right nearby, so you can easily explore the Krutenau and Neudorf districts or ride along the Ill and the Marne-Rhine canal at your own pace.
By public transport: several CTS tram stops are less than 5 minutes' walk away, serving the central station, the European district, the University and the whole Strasbourg area.
By car: Place de la Cathédrale sits right in the heart of the Grande Île's pedestrian and restricted-access zone. We strongly recommend using one of the park-and-ride car parks on the edge of the historic centre when you arrive, then getting around by tram or on foot. The A35 motorway takes you to Obernai (30 min), Colmar (45 min) and Basel (1 hr).
