The 11th arrondissement of Paris stretches essentially from the Place de la Bastille to the Place de la Nation and Place de la République, extending to the Père Lachaise cemetery. Far from being uniform, it is nonetheless cohesive in the sense of being a vibrant district, full of bars and restaurants, where there is plenty to experience.
The Bastille district is particularly lively, overlooking numerous shopping districts, offices, higher education institutions, hospitals as well as the Gare de Lyon which draws a continuous flow of travelers towards the centre.
