The 9th arrondissement of Paris is a pleasant area to visit and live in. A shopping and entertainment district, although a little less crowded than Les Halles, it boasts a more mature and diverse population. With its upscale yet affordable stores, restaurants, and theaters everywhere, its neighborhoods are nonetheless distinct from one another.
The southern part of the arrondissement is lively and noisy, and is home to the Grands Boulevards and the Opéra Garnier. Magnificent architecture, courtyards, and hidden streets. The northern part leads you to Montmartre via the famous Pigalle.
