As for sightseeing, the Sacré-Cœur is only a 5-minute walk away and is well worth a visit both inside and out.
Take a stroll through the picturesque streets of Montmartre, explore Place Léon Serpollet, Rue Lepic or the Montmartre Museum with its magnificent garden.
The 18th arrondissement is located in the north of Paris and includes the neighborhoods of La Goutte d'Or and Montmartre. The latter is one of the highest hills in Paris, and the view from the summit is well worth the trip. Home to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, a stronghold of the Paris Commune in the 19th century, Montmartre later became the neighborhood of many artists such as Picasso, Dalí, Duchamp, Toulouse-Lautrec, and many others. The 18th arrondissement is therefore very diverse, integrating ethnic enclaves with a bourgeois area, or vice versa. Boulevard de Clichy, near Place Pigalle, has many pleasant cafés and bars, giving the neighborhood a certain vibrancy and respectability.
