Step inside Le Trente-Huit and settle in right in the heart of Rouen's Rive Droite district, on Rue Jean Lecanuet. Here you are in an authentic Rouen building, just a few steps from the famous Place du Vieux Marché, the Town Hall and a 5-minute walk from Rouen station. Everything can be done on foot: stroll through the cobbled streets, sit down in a good restaurant, go to your business meeting or settle down comfortably to work remotely in a warm atmosphere.

Completely renovated in November 2025, Le Trente-Huit is an elegant one-bedroom flat with chic and intimate touches that highlight the charm of Normandy: high ceilings, mouldings and oak parquet flooring. As soon as you enter, you will discover a pleasant living room bathed in a cosy atmosphere, with its open-plan kitchen. The lounge invites you to relax: a comfortable sofa to unwind after a day of sightseeing, a television for cosy evenings, and a high table with three chairs for sharing a meal, working or planning your day. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to cook as if you were at home: hob, extractor hood, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and a wide sn of kitchen utensils. Everything has been designed to make your stay simple and convenient, whether you are staying for one night or several days.

The bedroom is intimate and relaxing, with a double bed (140x200 cm) where you can curl up after exploring the city. A side table provides a place to put your computer and work comfortably if needed, while storage space is available to make you feel at home. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, toilet and washing machine, which is a real bonus for longer stays.

Bed linen and towels are provided for your comfort. There is no private parking, but you will easily find parking on the street or in nearby public car parks, as well as public transport to reach the rest of the city and its surroundings.

The accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, available 7 days a week from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 14:00 to 21:00. We kindly ask you to take care of the accommodation and respect the neighbourhood. A bank card imprint will be requested.

## Neighbourhood

The Vieux-Marché district is one of the most iconic and historic places in Rouen, Normandy, France. It is located in the heart of the city and is a central location for Rouen's history, architectural heritage and social life.

1. History
The Vieux-Marché is particularly famous for its connection to Joan of Arc. It was on this square, in 1431, that the famous French heroine was sentenced to death and burned alive after her trial. A small symbolic pyre marks the exact spot where this tragic event took place. This square therefore embodies a large part of the collective memory of France and Rouen.

2. Place du Vieux-Marché
Place du Vieux-Marché is a lively meeting place in Rouen. Today, it is surrounded by half-timbered buildings typical of Normandy, giving the neighbourhood a unique medieval atmosphere. These half-timbered houses are often well preserved and now house cafés, restaurants and shops. The terraces on the square are particularly popular for enjoying the atmosphere.

3. Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc Church
The Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc Church, built in 1979, is a modern monument that contrasts with the traditional architecture of the surrounding area. This church was built in homage to Joan of Arc and has a bold design in the shape of an inverted boat, reminiscent of both Viking longships and Normandy's maritime history. Inside, there are magnificent stained glass windows salvaged from the former Saint-Vincent Church, which was destroyed during the Second World War.

4. Atmosphere and social life
The Vieux-Marché district is one of the liveliest places in Rouen, particularly due to its many restaurants, bars and terraces. It is a popular destination for both tourists and locals. In summer, the terraces are particularly lively, and in winter, the Christmas markets bring a festive atmosphere.

5. Gastronomy
In addition to its historical sites, the neighbourhood is renowned for its gastronomy. There are several establishments where you can sample typical Norman dishes, such as the famous apple tart, camembert and oysters. Many traditional restaurants offer dishes made with local produce.

6. Market and shops
Although the Place du Vieux-Marché has lost its original role as the central market (most markets are now held in other parts of the city), it remains an important place for local businesses. The market is often still active on certain days, offering fresh, local produce to Rouen residents and visitors alike.

The Old Market district is therefore both a vibrant testament to Rouen's medieval past and a modern hub for cultural, gastronomic and social activities. It is a must-see for those who want to discover the city's history while enjoying its contemporary dynamism.

## Transport

Thanks to its location, you have access to all forms of transport nearby.

1. Public transport (bus and metro)
Rouen is served by a bus and metro network operated by the company Astuce.

Rouen metro: This is actually a tramway, known as a light metro, which runs through the city. There are two lines (T1 and Appartement) that pass near the city centre, with stations such as Théâtre des Arts and Palais de Justice, both about a 5- to 10-minute walk from the Gros-Horloge.

Bus: Several bus lines serve the centre of Rouen. Stops near the Gros-Horloge include Théâtre des Arts and Place du Vieux-Marché, which are served by numerous bus lines, such as lines F1, F2, and 11.

2. Bicycle (Cy’clic)
Rouen also has a self-service bicycle service called Cy’clic. There are several bike stations near the Gros-Horloge, such as those located at Théâtre des Arts or on Place du Vieux-Marché.

3. Taxis
Taxis are available throughout the city, and it is fairly easy to find them near the historic centre, particularly around Place du Vieux-Marché or major thoroughfares such as Rue Jeanne d'Arc. Alternatively, apps such as Uber are also available in Rouen.

4. Train
Rouen Rive Droite station is located about a 10-minute walk from the Gros-Horloge. From this station, you can take trains to Paris, Le Havre, Caen, and other cities in the region.

5. Car (rental or car sharing)
There are also car sharing services such as Yea! or Citiz, which allow you to rent cars for short distances. Cars may be available in car parks near the centre.
