It's also a major marine life reserve. Its seabed is home to a thousand types of fish. On land, it's a haven for walkers, fishermen, and surfers. And it has a special feature. This feature is what locals call "La Barra," a long rock formation that extends not far from the sand and protects a large part of the beach from the tides, transforming it into a natural saltwater pool when the tide is low. A curious line of rocks makes the bay the best place on this side of the globe for swimming, as the salty sea makes it easier to float, and goggles give the impression of being inside a large aquarium.
