The 7th arrondissement is located southwest of the city center, and includes the tip of the Vieux Port and the Frioul Islands. It is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the city, as it is home to the immense golden statue of the Notre Dame de la Garde basilica, a Marseille emblem. This arrondissement also includes one of the oldest Christian monuments in France: the Saint Victor Abbey; as well as Fort Saint Nicolas and the Palais du Pharo.
