The 12th arrondissement of Paris is one of its largest districts, even before considering the immense Bois de Vincennes, which is attached to it. Aside from the neighboring districts of Bastille, Gare de Lyon, and Bercy, the 12th arrondissement is located in the suburbs.
The Coulée Verte, or footbridge located near Place de la Bastille, at the intersection of Rue de Lyon and Rue de Charenton, extends to the Périphérique, following an old railway line that transports goods to the Port d'Arsenal.
