The alley in which the house is located, is part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella. The holiday house is situated in the picturesque town Bastide sur L'Hers (Midi-Pyrénees). You can explore the winding authentic streets under the ancient trees next to the trout river L'Hers. During summer you can join the effervescent town festivals with delicious food, drink, dancing and music!
The Cathar castles with their mystical surroundings are definitely worth a visit. In a mere 40 minutes you can stand in the village of Bram, rent a boat and explore the beautiful nature besides the Canal du Midi.
For those who prefer adventure, there is also a kayaking and rafting option nearby. Thanks to the great location besides the Voie Vert, this is a true paradise for hikers, bikers, and horse riders. Just an hour away there are the mountains, with great visiting options such as Ax les Thermes, Andorra and historical cities like Carcasonne, Toulouse and Perpignan. Perfect for a day trip.
Other than these amazing features, there are of course the features of the house itself. Take a plunge in the large communal pool (12x6m), pick up some free vegetables from the kitchen garden, or enjoy a glass of great French wine at the roof-top terrace with a view over the garden and the hills. Because of the beautiful lights, the atmosphere at night is wonderful. There is a barbecue, but also an egg-cooker ideal to make delicious meals.
You also have a jacuzzi in the garden (to reserve beforehand). The houselinen offers you : bed- and bathlinen, beach towels, kitchen towels, napery and a bathrobe for each person.
This holiday home is located on the floor of a 17th-century townhouse. You can reach it through a private garden and terrace, and an outside stairs. The house has been decorated with the utmost care in a romantic, nostalgic style, without sacrificing on any modern comfort. A perfect balance between the modern and the authentic. All bedrooms have their own terrace.
At la Bastille sur L'Hers there is something for everyone. Plenty of varied activities close by, but a tranquil atmosphere at the house for relaxation. Simply put, a perfect holiday home.
A tip for those sporty souls: the house is located next to a mountainbike trail, and close to a tennis field. There is also another fun bike route: an old train road has been renovated to be suitable for cyclists (Voie vert).
