Located above the Bairro Alto, the bourgeoisie cohabits with bohemia on a hill known for its old palaces of the nineteenth century.
Collectors of all hair, investors and creators are not mistaken, they took over from the Portuguese aristocracy and today occupy the many palaces of this residential area.
the district has kept its charm, with Portuguese vintage shops and stylists' workshops. Walk along the rua Escola Politécnica, before going for a coffee near the cedar of Lebanon centenary of the garden of Príncipe Real; where you will find every Saturday morning one of the biggest organic market in the city.
The history
Príncipe Real was born on the ruins field left by the earthquake of 1755.
